About me

I'm a software engineer and engineering lead based in Winter Haven, FL. I've spent years building and scaling frontend systems for a multi-tenant fintech platform - moving from individual contributor to leading a team while staying technical.

Outside of work I build things I actually want to use: a home weather station running on a Raspberry Pi, dashboards, APIs. I care about the craft, not just the output.

Nimbus Home Weather Station

Not a weather API. Every reading comes from physical sensors I wired up and mounted at my home in Winter Haven, FL - running 24/7 on a Raspberry Pi I built and configured myself. The Angular dashboard polls my own REST endpoint.

Owned the platform's heaviest features and went deeper into the stack. Established the frontend's observability story, and started writing backend services those UIs talked to.

  • Shipped the platform's heaviest interfaces: an analytics dashboard, interactive waveform generation, a highly dynamic and configurable filter system, and search backed custom query translation layer
  • Built frontend observability on Grafana and Faro - separating fetch time from response time exposed where the latency was actually hiding
  • Wrote Java, Spring Boot, and Pekko services behind the UI using event sourcing, projections, and Project Reactor

Built UI features and infrastructure for an EdTech platform. Re-architected the auth layer, caught a critical security flaw in production, and built the video-upload pipeline and grading system instructors used daily.
